This woman was getting an x-ray at the dentist when they noticed a large lump on the side of her jaw. After more exams, they told her she had 3-6 months to live. One way she could gain more time would be to let them take part of her femur and replace the "bad bone" with that. After the procedure was over, her face was a little deformed, but she was desperate to have more time with her kids. 3 months later she arrived at the doctors to good and bad news. The good news was that she was cancer free! ....and never had cancer... the bad news, they got the tests mixed up and so therefore had the procedure for no reason. She had gone through five surgeries.
In 2007, Graham Reeves went into surgery to have one of his kidneys removed. Unfortunately for Graham, the doctors removed the wrong one, twice. He died a few days later and was 70 years old.
Benjamin Houghton received a 200,000 dollar settlement when surgeons removed the wrong testicle. Willie King, who had diabetes, received a 1.15 million dollar settlement, after doctors amputated the wrong leg. They later amputated the correct one. Doctor's left a ten inch retractor inside his chest. It could physically be seen poking out, and he was in excruciating pain. When he went to the hospital to see what was going on, they told him it was all in his head, and to go seek psychiatric help. Finally, after Daryoush went back the second time, still in excruciating pain, they ordered a CAT scan. The item was removed and he is in the process of filling a claim against the hospital. This only happens to about 1,500 people a year.
As a former Mr.. Mexico, and runner up for Mr. Universe, Mr. Baez wanted to keep his body in tip top shape and decided to get pec implants in 1999. When he woke up, he looked down and saw that the doctor had given him C- cup size breast implants. The doctor who performed the procedure was named Reinaldo Sylvestre, had no medical credentials, and police officers began to search for him. In 2004, they found him in Belize, where he had worked on hundreds of patients in that year. He had forged documents.
Sandra Katada was giving birth to her daughter Alexandra, while the daughter was trying to pull the baby out, he twisted and stretched her spine. Your spine is one of the central hubs for your nerves; it’s part of the Central Nervous System. Because he twisted and stretched her spine, her nerves were extremely damaged. The doctor had such a strong grip that he not only damaged her spine, he also damaged the nerves responsible for stimulating the growth of her ribs. She eventually suffocated inside her under grown rib cage. He also broke and pulled her elbow out of socket. She passed away on February 14th, 1994 when she was only 8 months old. After a news company did some more research they saw that two other babies had passed away in this doctors care, and that one other baby had died after Alexandra passed away. In the other family’s cases, they couldn’t go to court because by the time they realized that their doctor was at fault for their child’s shortened life, two years had passed on the statute of limitations. Each family complained to the Texas Medical Board, but unfortunately this doctor is still practicing. The Katada’s eventually settled for one million dollars.
